Rally 4 Reading is a month-long celebration of literacy. ALL types of reading are encouraged and celebrated. Find a book to read with your eyes or ears. Challenge yourself to be a risk-taker and try something new! Whether that’s a mystery, history, non-fiction, graphic novel, poetry, audiobook, fairy tale, or a beautiful picture book - dive in! There’s something for everyone to love!
Rally 4 Reading 2023 - How to participate:
All Month: School-wide Reading Challenge of 1,000 Hours of reading.
-
Set a personal goal for daily reading – all types of reading count! Read a book with your eyes. Read an audiobook or podcast with your ears. Listen to someone read. Record the number of minutes you spend reading on your reading log. Reading logs should be turned in on Tuesday, February 21st.
-
If we meet this goal as a school, we will celebrate with a Pajama Day on Friday, March 3rd!
Each week will have a different focus. Choose to participate in as many as you like!

Donate Books for Media Center & Classrooms
The main goal of Rally 4 Reading is to get kids excited about reading - whatever that looks like! One of the ways families can help do that is by making sure Matoska students have access to a diverse selection of texts. We asked the Matoska Media Center and teachers to create Amazon Wishlists to help expand the choices students have both in the Media Center and classroom. If you are looking for a way to share your love of reading, this is a great way to help.
