Rally 4 Reading is a month-long celebration of literacy. ALL types of reading are encouraged and celebrated. Find a book to read with your eyes or ears. Challenge yourself to be a risk-taker and try something new!  Whether that’s a mystery, history, non-fiction, graphic novel, poetry, audiobook, fairy tale, or a beautiful picture book - dive in! There’s something for everyone to love!

Rally 4 Reading 2024 - How to participate:
All Month:
  1. School-wide Reading Challenge of 1,000 Hours of reading.

    • Set a personal goal for daily reading – all types of reading count! Read a book with your eyes. Read an audiobook or podcast with your ears. Listen to someone read. Record the number of minutes you spend reading on your reading log (included in this packet). Reading logs should be turned in on Thursday, February 22nd.

    • If we meet this goal as a school, we will celebrate with a Pajama Day on Friday, March 1st!

  2. Bears Book Exchange

Interested in exchanging some books? Try the Bears Book Exchange. Bring in 1 (or a few) gently used books and place them in the bookshelf outside of the Media Center. At that time (or later in the month), choose a new-to-you book to take home. Please choose the SAME amount of books that you brought (ex. bring 2, take 2).

Each week will have a different focus. Choose to participate in as many as you like!

Get Started! (2/1-2/2) - Set a Routine and Find Some Resources

  1. Get into a reading routine. Keep your reading log handy so you can track your minutes any time you do some reading!
