IB Inquirers

This month we are excited to continue our school-wide focus on our Who We Are unit of inquiry with Matoska Community Day, which will take place on Monday, 10/17, and Tuesday, 10/18.

The central idea of this unit is: “Understanding and valuing ourselves and others leads to positive relationships in an inclusive community.” Students in all classrooms have explored the concepts of identity, relationships, and our rights and responsibilities as members of our community, and we are building a strong foundation together.

On the 17th or the 18th, our staff will be participating in important IB professional development, while your child will participate in a half day of two community sessions: one focused on team building games with an international community orientation, and one focused on our IB foundation/our Matoska community, including the opportunity to participate in a collaborative art project for future display in our school. Welcome to a great year, we are so glad you are here!

Note: Lunch on both days will be bag lunch, picnic style. Your child may bring a bag lunch from home or order a bag lunch from school. No hot lunches will be served.

Get your gear now.

Indigenous Peoples Day - October 10

Indigenous Peoples' Day honors the past, present, and futures of Native peoples throughout the US. Minnesota is home to eleven Tribal Nations, and a resilient and robust urban Native American community. Indigenous Peoples have made essential contributions to the history, culture, and economy of Minnesota, including traditional knowledge, experience, labor, technology, science, philosophy, industry, and arts.
